After first "date", he IMs me online instead of calling?

I've been chatting online with a guy I met at a bar for the past couple of months. I finally asked him to "hang out" and we went to dinner. It's been 3 days since our dinner and instead of calling me, he AIMs me online. Even though he initiates the online chatting, he says he's busy at work (programming) or just takes forever to respond. If he wasnt interested, he shouldn't AIM at all after the date?
